What can I do if I have hit my Prescription (Rx) limit for the year?

There are many people who are on Medicare or who have insurance who will exhaust their Prescription coverage every year.

There may be a catastrophic protection limit on your policy but can you really afford the $3000 or more in additional out of pocket costs?

Depending on your circumstances Discount Health Programs may be able to provide you with some financial relief.

You can receive immediate savings on your prescriptions! Some programs are accepted at thousands of independent pharmacies nationwide.

Sample program features include:
- Almost 50,000 retail pharmacy locations across the country*, including most national chain pharmacies, such as CVS, Wal-mart, Target and Walgreens
- Save up to 50% on most generic prescription drugs.*
- Save up to 25% on most brand-name prescription drugs.**
- Special savings on most high-volume and maintenance-type drugs.***
- Most prescription drugs are included both at the retail pharmacy and by mail order.
- Toll-free number to locate independent & chain-participating pharmacies.

* Discounts available only at participating pharmacies.
**You may not receive a savings on some high-volume or maintenance-type drugs since these medications may have already been reduced at the pharmacy level.
***Available through mail order program.

If you spend more than $90 per month on your Prescriptions you might want to look into a Prescription Advocacy Program as you may qualify for no cost prescriptions.

Is my child ready for a booster seat?

We have a son who just turned 5. As he is in Kindergarten and one of the younger kids in the grade, I thought he might feel a little better if he got to move out of his toddler car seat.

He probably has another 6 months or more before he is too tall for his Britax Boulevard.

My husband who I like to refer to as the worrier, started grilling me about what kind of seat are we going to put him in, will it have Side Impact Protection (SIP) like his current seat and what about a 5 point harness.

Now in all fairness I knew he had a point, but our son is having some self-esteem issues and saying goodbye to the toddler car seat could possibly help.
I was not real comfortable with the boosters, even the ones with the backs, until I found a couple that also offer a 5 point harness. I have been on the fence about what to do for about a week or so.

I just found a seat I think I like and as I was looking for local retailers I came across this the You Tube video. To all parents who are unsure about moving your child to a booster or who already have and wonder if it is save, PLEASE watch this video. Your child will thank you.

What can we do to protect our children?

If you missed it today Oprah had a show about online predators. Even if your child is young you need to know that your child could be in danger. Even though most people tell their kids about Stranger danger a lot of people don't realize that 4 out 5 abusers are known to the child and their family.

A lot of these predators are selling photos or images of the children they abuse online. There are also the predators who use the internet to create relationships with our children and lure them away.

There is a bill in the senate at the moment that would allow more funding to be allocated to help Protect Our Children. - Senate Bill 1738

The Senate is going to recess later in September so we all need to take action now.

Visit Oprah's website at this link. http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahshow/20080911_tows_predators

You can find out more details on the Bill, find the names of your senators and their email addresses. There are also sample emails that you can send to your Senators.

Please send the emails. This is not about your political preferences this is about protecting our children. Let's all take action Now. http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahshow/20080911_tows_predators

Are those email job offers a scam?

If you are getting emails lately from the United Kingdom, Europe or any other country offering a part-time job then please don't send your details.

This is similar to the Nigerian money scam, and they have just started using either people in the UK or people who look like they are there.

The scam is that they put money in your account and you wire about 90% of it on to another account. The problem is, the money they sent you really hasn't cleared and when the bank works it out your account will be overdrawn and you will need to come up with the money that you have already spent, by putting it into the other account.

You are on the hook to pay the bank back. Even though the bank showed that the deposit had cleared it hasn't really. It can take them up to 2 weeks to realize that the funds are not available. By that time you will have already sent on the payment.

So you are actually out of money, rather than making any money.

As the transactions originated overseas they are difficult to track, so don't risk it.

What can I do if I am Uninsured or Underinsured?

For almost 16 years, AmeriPlan® Corporation has been the leader in providing affordable, money-saving discount healthcare programs. Ameriplan's Dental Plus™, Basic Health™, Total Health™ and Total Health Plus™ programs have saved uninsured and underinsured Americans hundreds of millions of dollars on their Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug, Chiropractic Care and other health-related expenses.

Ameriplan's programs are not insurance; instead, AmeriPlan® provides healthcare services through networks of contracted providers. Ameriplan's healthcare providers offer their services at reduced rates to AmeriPlan® members because members pay for the services they require at the time they are provided.

AmeriPlan® members may also enjoy access to ancillary services such as lab work, a hospital advocacy program, plus legal, identity theft and auto club services.

Company Founders Dennis and Daniel Bloom chose a network marketing business model as the ideal way to market Ameriplan’s programs to the public. Currently, some 40,000 Independent Business Owners (IBOs) such as Rebecca Doll in Thousand Oaks, CA sign up thousands of new members per month, as well as other IBO’s interested in building a profitable home-based business. AmeriPlan® has more than 175 employees operating out of its headquarters facility at 5700 Democracy Drive, Plano, Texas 74024.

Dennis and Daniel Bloom comment, “We are so proud of our company, employees, independent sales force, members and healthcare providers. Our mission is to provide quality, affordable healthcare to the public in partnership between AmeriPlan® and our Independent Business Owners. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of millions of people in the coming years.”

What is the difference between Dental Insurance and Discount Dental cards/programs?

Dental Insurance
Who pays for services:
You pay monthly premiums, deductible and co-pay/coinsurance (see below); the insurance company pays dentist directly for remainder of charges.
Discounted Rates at Selected Providers:
PPO plans have pre-negotiated discounted rates with selected providers.
Indemnity plans allow you to see any dentist, and, as such, do not have discounted rates at selected providers.
Deductible:
Typically has a deductible, i.e., insurance company may not start paying for services until your dental expenses reach a certain dollar amount.
Co-Pay/Coinsurance:
After deductible is met, you may need to pay a nominal amount (e.g., $10) per office visit or a percentage (e.g. 20%) of the cost of a larger procedure. Insurance company typically pays for remainder of charges.
Waiting Period:
Many dental insurance plans require you to be a policyholder for 6 to 18 months before paying for major dental services.
Annual Maximum Benefit:
Most dental insurance plans will only cover up to certain amount per member per year (e.g., $1,000). After that cap is reached, you are responsible for all dental expenses.

Discount Cards with Dental Discounts
Who pays for services:
You must pay the dentist directly at the time dental services are rendered. The Discount Card does not pay any money to the provider. You also pay a monthly membership fee to the discount program in exchange for discounted rates at participating dental providers.
Discounted Rates at Selected Providers:
Offers discounted rates at participating dental providers.
Note: Can be used in conjunction with Dental Insurance Indemnity plans.
Deductible:
No deductible - Discounts are available at first visit to dentist.
Co-Pay/Coinsurance:
Not applicable - For a given service, participating dentists will charge you the contracted discounted rate that has been pre-negotiated.
Waiting Period:
Not applicable - Since no waiting periods apply.
Annual Maximum Benefit:
Not applicable - You and your family members can use your discount program membership as often as you need.

Where can Business People go for Networking?

OK. So most of you have probably heard about MySpace. In my personal opinion it is great for those in their teens and twenties but once you are out of your twenties the appeal and the content don't have as much value.

I tried a couple of the web sites/forums for moms and they are good for chatting but on the most part I found the same opportunities offered by many different people. A lot of people were looking for answers but very few were sharing.

I have a knack for finding things by accident. I found DirectMATCHES as part of the SpiderWeb Marketing System. So far I have been very impressed with the opportunity to email, blog and advertise in an environment where I am not constantly being harassed by others about their opportunities.

That being said, you will get emails from others. The idea of the site is to network. If you happen to have something that can benefit someone else then great. If you would like to know more about DirectMATCHES check out my site. http://www.directmatches.com/alwaystraveling-cust

How do I get traffic to my website or blog?

If it is a blog then you should be able to use key words and content to drive the traffic. This does rely on you regularly updating your blog. Don't forget to register you blog with the search engines and ping it. - All for free.

For a website I think one of the best things is reciprocal marketing. You put an ad on your website in exchange for your link on another.

Here are some links to companies that have different kinds of reciprocal marketing agreements:

Where do you find the time to cook dinner?

I have to confess that if it takes longer than 30 minutes then I don't cook it.

Here are a couple of my favorite dishes.

Rice, Trader Joes Orange Chicken with Costco Stir Fry vegetables.

Buitoni Chicken and Proscuito Tortellini with Newmans mushroom marinara sauce, extra fresh mushrooms and garlic bread.

Fish and Chips - We have a deep fryer so I put the fish in the oven and cook the fries and dinner is done. Takes about 25 mins in total and I don't even have to do that much! Our favorite fish for the adults is Halibut from Costco, and for the kids Cod fish sticks from Trader Joes.

How do you afford all those nice clothes?

I LOVE SALES!

I am a strong believer in never paying full price for an item, unless I have to.

I know how much I am willing to pay for a product, or what is a great discount for that item and I just wait for them to go on sale.

If I am shopping online I also search for coupon codes and offers to pick up in store to avoid shipping charges.

If you don't have the time to keep track of the sales, take a look at my blog http://live4less.blogspot.com for details about the latest sales and where to find coupons and coupon codes.

Or you could check out some of my favorite stores, Old Navy and Kohls.

Where do you find out about ways to make money?

If you do a google search it could take you forever to find something you are even slightly interested in and then you have to find out if the company is legit, and then of course the obvious, is it right for you.

I would recommend starting at the Win Network. It is FREE to join and you can listen and/or watch live online presentations by companies that their business opportunities.

Take a look for yourself. Click Here!

What are your favorite Baby Products?

I don't like to waste money so before I buy a product I like to do my research. I'll normally see what the manufacturer has to say about the product, read some online reviews and then in some cases I would see what other parents seemed to like and dislike when we were out.

Watching other people with strollers and asking them questions probably saved as hundreds of dollars.

For my favorite products check out another one of my blogs.
